MPL celebrates International Women’s Day

A special function was held on 8th March, to celebrate the occasion of International Women’s Day.

CEO Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem and senior management joined the ceremony to mark Women’s Day.

Speaking at the ceremony CEO Haleem praised the hard work and contribution of women, and committed to creating more opportunities for women in MPL.

MPL wins Inter Office / Companies Handball Tournament

Maldives Port’s Limited (MPL) Men’s Handball team has won the Inter Office Office / Companies Handball Tournament.

MPL beat Maldives Gas by 35-15 in the final of Men’s Category.

Four player of MPL were included in the best 7 players of the tournament. Thy are:

1 – Hussain Haleem

2 – Mohamed Firunash

3 – Abdulla Ziyau

4 – Ahmed Firash

5 – Ahmed Azmeel (GK)

MPL’s women’s team also competed in the women’s category.


MPL Inter Department Futsal Tournament

MPL Inter department futsal tournament 2018 concluded on Friday.

In the final of the match of the tournament, Cargo Operations team beat Terminal Vehicle Unit 3-2, to clinch the title.

Cargo Operations also won the Veterans Division. In the final Cargo Operations beat Security Harbor Master’s office.

After the final game of the tournament, the closing ceremony was held.

Before the final game of the tournament, a special match was played between Port Club and HOD’s. The match was won by HOD’s by penalty shootout.

MPL Participates in ‘Drug Awareness Program’ by NDA

Maldives Ports Limited has participated in a special ‘Drug Awareness Program’ conducted by the National Drug Agency (NDA).

The session was conducted at ‘Bandharu Maalam’ at MPL Head Office by members of NDA including the Chief Executive Officer Hassan Shaheel. The session included valuable information regarding steps to take to reduce the amount of narcotics-related issues and crime in our society, and also included key points on drug education and the rehabilitation process and options for recovering addicts.

This program conducted by NDA is targeted specially towards government offices and entities, in order to raise awareness and create conversation about drugs and correlated issues in the Maldives.


Youth Challenge 2018

With the initiation of Ministry of Youth, ‘Youth Challenge 2018’ has been inaugurated at Dharubaaruge with complete 88 stoles from different business industries.This includes a stole from Maldives Ports Limited, through which provides range of information with intention of keeping the youth interested to the relevant sector. It also provides information regarding port related courses that are conducted via its training department aiming to provide port related knowledge.

The event is held at Dharubaaruge and would continue until three days. Stoles would be opened everyday at 4 pm to till 11 pm, commencing from 8th February 2018.

According to Ministry of Youth, the main aim of conducting “Youth Challenge” is to provide job opportunities for the Maldivian Youth while also providing information about the educational opportunities that are provided by different businesses. It also aims to provide a promotional platform for new products and beginners who are new to the Maldivian business industry.
