MPL participates in Independence day float parade

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) participated in the float parade held to mark the occasion of 54th Independence Day.

MPL presented 2 floats in the parade, with one showcasing the history of the port while the other presented the modern port operations.

The floats were on display on Sunday in Maafanu Stadium and also in Hulhumale central park on Wednesday.

 

MPL awards Hajj trips to 5 employees

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has awarded Hajj trips to 5 employees, to perform Hajj this year.

The chosen employees were formally awarded the trip by CEO Shahid Ali in a ceremony held on Sunday.

Ali Zahir – Equipment Planner Grade 3

Mohamed Rasheed – Senior Supervisor Grade 3

Abdul Raheem – Assistant Supervisor Grade 2

Port Club Inter-Department Badminton Tournament held

The annual Inter-Department Badminton Tournament, organized by Port Club, concluded on 11th July 2019.

CEO Shahid Ali attended the closing ceremony held in MPL badminton court, and gave away prizes for the winners.

Senior management visits “Kudakudhinge Hiyaa”

Deputy CEO Ibrahim Abdulla and senior management visited “Kudakudhinge Hiyaa” on Tuesday.

During the visit, MPL made a donation to “Kudakudhing Hiyaa” and also gave away gifts to the children.

Deputy CEO Ibrahim Abdulla spoke to the children and caretakers during the visit.

MPL holds annual iftar

MPL has held annual iftar for employees on Sunday.

CEO Shahid Ali and board members joined the iftar which was held in Male North Harbor. Several employees also joined the Iftar.

MPL holds Iftar for employees in every Ramadan.

MPL defends 18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta Title

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) defeated Police Club by 4-3 goals in the final of 18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta to clinch the title for second consecutive year.

Fathimath Joozan scored a hat rick in the final, while captain Fathimath Shaliya also scored in the final.

MPL was impressive throughout the tournament, scoring 20 goals on their way to the title.

Fathimath Shaliya of MPL was named as the Queen of Futsal. She was also included in the Dream Team, alongside Fathimath Joozan and Azam Akhondi of MPL.

Ahmed Visal of MPL was named as  the best coach of the tournament.

MPL holds Annual General Meeting

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL)’s annual general meeting of 2018 was held on the 29th, April 2019.

Board Members of MPL,  Secretary General of Privatization and Corporatization Board, and members from Auditor General’s Office attended  the annual general meeting held in Champa Central Hotel.

Comfortable win for MPL women’s team

Defending Champions MPL recorded a comfortable win in their first game of 18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta 2019.

MPL women’s team beat Fenaka by a scoreline of 5-1 in the game played last night.

Iranian striker Sahar Zamanifard scored 4 goals, while Fathimath Shaliya and Fathimath Joozan Zareer also got on the score sheet.

MPL will play against WAMCO in their second game on Saturday night. 

Online booking system introduced for STL

Maldives Ports Limited has introduced an online ferry booking system for the service provided by Southern Transport Link (STL).
In a special function held at STL office of Fuvahmulah on Thursday, the service was officially inaugurated by President Mohamed Nasheed.
The online booking system will enable customers to pre- book tickets and make ticket payments through the online portal.

 

Special breakfast held to mark International Womens Day

MPL hosted a special breakfast for female staff yesterday to celebrate the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The breakfast was held in Citron by Lemon Grass. Several female employees attended the special breakfast. CEO Shahid Ali and executive management was also in attendance.

Speaking in the ceremony, CEO Shahid Ali announced that maternity leave will be increased to 6 months and paternity leave to 1 month.

CEO Shahid Ali also mentioned that discussions are underway to introduce flexible hours for staff during pregnancy and hopefully flexible hours will be introduced very soon.
