Cargo Department crowned Champions of Port Futsal Tournament

Cargo Department was crowned Champions of Port Futsal Tournament on Thursday Night.

Defending Champions Cargo beat Security Department comfortably in the final match. Cargo Department was also the champions of the Veterans Division.

CEO Shahid Ali gave away the trophy to the Champion teams.

Before the final matches, a special match was played between the HOD’s and Port Club.

Port Futsal Tournament is an annual tournament, organized by Port Club.

 

MPL wins third consecutive Handball title

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has won their third consecutive Inter Office Handball Tournament men’s division title.

MPL beat Police Club by 25-24 in the final match played at handball ground last night.

Mohamed Firunash Abdulla, Ahmed Firash, Ismail Farhan and Husain Haleem of MPL was named in the best players of the tournament.

Inter Department Futsal tournament kicks off

Inter Department Futsal Tournament of Maldives Ports Limited kicked off on 26th February,

The opening ceremony of the tournament was held on 26th February. Chairman of MPL Mohamed Zaki was the chief guest of the ceremony.

The annual tournament, which is organized by Port Club, will be competed by total of 17 teams. In the Veterans Division, total of 5 teams will complete.

The tournament will end on 6th March.

MPL participate in Customs cleaning initiative

Maldives Ports Limited took part in the cleaning program organized by Maldives Customs during the past weekend.

During the cleaning program named “Thimaavettai Rattehi Customs” MPL joined Customs and Maldives National Defence Force to clean the berthing area of Male’ Commercial Harbor on Friday.

On Saturday, staff of MPL and Customs cleaned the area’s surrounding Male Commercial Harbor, MPL head office and Customs building. Chairman of MPL Mohamed Zaki attended the cleaning program on Saturday.

VP inaugurates STL’s ferry system between Fuvahmulah – Faresmaathodaa

Vice President Faisal Naseem inaugurated the ferry system between Fuvahmulah City and GDh.Faresmaathodaa on Friday.

The ferry system was inaugurated in a special ceremony held in Faresmaathodaa on Friday morning.

Speaking at the ceremony CEO Shahid Ali said that the ferry service will officially start on 14th February and that the service will be available twice a week.

Southern Transports Link (STL) will operate the ferry system between Fuvahmulah and Faresmaathodaa. STL already operates ferry service between Addu City – Fuvahmulah. STL aslo provides bus service in Addu City.

 

Football match played to commemorate world cancer day

Football match was played between Senior Management and Port Club on Monday night to commemorate world cancer day.

Port club won the match. CEO Shahid Ali played for senior management team along with several other executives.

MPL also displayed special messages on bus screens of Greater Male’ Transport Link in collaboration with Cancer Society of Maldives.

Harbourmasters Office wins handball tournament

Harbourmasters Office was crowned champions of MPL Inter-Department Handball tournament on Monday Night.

In a well contested final match, Harbourmasters offfice beat Male’ South West Harbour to win the title.

CEO of MPL, Shahid Ali was the chief guest of the final match. CEO Shahid gave away the trophy and other prizes to the champion team.

MPL launch campaign to reduce single-use plastic

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has joined the national campaign to reduce single-use plastic.

MPL’s campaign to reduce single-use plastic was initiated in a ceremony held yesterday. President’s Office Minister Mr.Ali Shiyam was the chief guest of the ceremony.

MPL will provide reusable bottles to each staff working in the greater Male’ region under this campaign. MPL has already installed water dispenser in every department of the Male’ Commercial Harbor.

During the ceremony reusable bottles were presented to every department by Minister Shiyam.

MPL participates in nationwide clean-up

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) joined the nationwide clean-up initiative on Saturday.

The national program to remove litter across the country was launched by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday.

CEO of MPL Shahid Ali and senior management joined several staff of MPL on Saturday to clean the area of Male’ Commercial Harbor and Male’ North Harbor, as well as nearby areas.
