Maldives Ports Limited Installed Water and Electricity Services in North Harbour Zone A

Capable of providing electricity to up to 48 vessels, in addition to 16 water supply points

Malé, 7 July 2026 – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has successfully completed the installation of water and electricity services in Zone A of the North Harbour.

Previously, utility services were only available in Zone B and C, while Zone A did not have access to electricity or water supply. Following the opening of second segment of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project, MPL commenced work in March to extend these essentials services to Zone A, under the instruction of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

With the completion of the project, Zone A is now Equipped with infrastructure capable of providing electricity to up to 48 vessels simultaneously. In addition, 16 water supply points have been installed for the vessels operating in the area.

These newly installed services will improve convenience for harbour users, support vessels, and enhance the overall services provided by the North Harbour.
