MSWH was transferred to Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) by the government on 12 March 2015 to enhance services and meet the growing demands of supply chain networks. Since then, MPL has significantly developed the harbor from its basic facilities to provide essential services for local users. Improvements include the provision of water and electricity for customers, a waiting area with a prayer room, and the optimization of the quay wall to accommodate vessels efficiently.
