Upcoming Projects
Thilafushi Port Project
MPL plans to move the Malé port and container terminal to Thilafushi, with a projected annual throughput of 280,000 TEUs, to streamline trade operations in the region.
Ihavandhippolhu Container Terminal
This planned terminal in the northernmost atoll will meet the demands of the adjacent free zone and cater to the east-west shipping route traffic.
Ihavandhippolhu Fuel Terminal
The Ihavandhippolhu Fuel Terminal will support STO and VITOL bunker operations and accommodate expanded bunkering services in the north.
Laamu Maritime Hub
The Laamu Maritime Hub will offer a cruise terminal, super yacht marina, resort, and offshore bunkering, designed with eco-friendly practices in Laamu Atoll.
Addu Freeport
Addu Freeport will attract international fishing vessels and establish a RoRo terminal for vehicle import, modification, and re-export to Africa and Europe.
Uligan Marina Project
The Uligan Yacht Marina at the northern tip of the Maldives will enhance tourism and support maritime infrastructure for the region.
Kulhudhuffushi Port Development Project
This project includes constructing an additional deep water quay wall at Kulhudhuffushi Port to support increased maritime traffic.
Kulhudhuffushi Boatyard
A boatyard with a slipway is planned adjacent to Kulhudhuffushi Port, aimed at enhancing vessel maintenance and repair capabilities.
Ihavandhoo Vessel Maintenance Dock
MPL is developing a vessel maintenance dock on Ihavandhoo Island to support maritime traffic in the northern Maldives.
Ihavandhoo Slipway
This project will add a vessel repair yard and slipway next to the planned maintenance dock in Ihavandhoo, strengthening local service infrastructure.
Thilafushi Dockyard
MPL plans to transform its existing vessel repair yard in Thilafushi into a state-of-the-art dockyard to serve the growing market for steel vessel building.
Addu Marina & Cruise Terminal
The Addu Gan Island project will establish a yacht marina and cruise terminal, benefiting from synergies with the nearby Addu Gan Airport.
Port Complex Building
The Port Complex Building will be a 25-storey, 20,000 sq ft structure, serving both commercial and residential purposes to enrich the urban landscape.
Hulhumalé Corporate Office Building
A 10-storey, 6,922 sq ft development, this office building will meet MPL’s commercial needs and house its corporate offices.
Oil Refinery
MPL plans to establish a refinery in Laamu Atoll or Ihavandhippolhu with an initial capacity of 5,000 barrels per day, supporting both bunkering and energy requirements.
Sea-to-Air Cargo Terminal
This terminal will transform existing facilities at Hoarafushi Airport to cater to the demand for sea-to-air cargo services from countries such as Bangladesh and Vietnam.
