MPL Contributes to Panel on Maritime Cargo Management at Maldives Marine Industry Forum 2025
Chief Learning & Development Officer Ms. Aishath Shimla joins panel on Maritime Cargo Operations
On 1st July 2025, the Maldives Marine Industry Forum returned for its third edition, and once again, it proved to be a pivotal space for collaboration, innovation, and strategic thinking across the country’s maritime landscape.
We’re proud that Ms. Aishath Shimla, our Chief Learning & Development Officer, was invited as a panelist in the session on “Maritime Cargo Management, Clearance & Forwarding.” Her insights contributed to a timely discussion on improving trade efficiency, streamlining port logistics, and reinforcing the backbone of the Maldives’ cargo operations, a sector vital to national growth and resilience.
Organized by Medium Events Pvt Ltd and officially endorsed by the National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) and the Indian Ocean Divers Association (IODA), MMIF 2025 gathered leaders from across the public and private sectors to address the opportunities and challenges shaping our ocean economy.
Four dynamic panel discussions anchored the day:
• Marine Resources Management – Centering sustainability, regulation, and investment in our blue economy.
• Maritime Cargo Operations – Where Ms. Shimla shared the stage with logistics and trade experts to explore smarter cargo handling strategies.
• Marine Connectivity – Discussing how technology and infrastructure can better link our dispersed islands.
• Watersports & Diving Sector Growth – Showcasing how this signature tourism offering can expand sustainably and safely.
In parallel, an interactive workshop hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation opened the floor for productive dialogue between regulators and industry practitioners, a necessary step for refining policy in line with real-world operations.
Events like MMIF are not just about discussion; they are about action. They represent a shared commitment to transform the Maldivian marine industry into one that is efficient, future-ready, and sustainably managed.
We’re honored to contribute to these conversations and remain committed to fostering talent, learning, and leadership within our maritime and logistics sectors.
