MPL Transitions to ‘Tradian’ for Seamless Digital Trade Services
MPL Transitions to ‘Tradian’ for Seamless Digital Trade Services
Malé, 16 April 2025 – In support of the Government of Maldives’ commitment to digital transformation, Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) will officially begin using the National Single Window platform, ‘Tradian’ (tradian.gov.mv), to streamline trade-related services.
Following the Cabinet's decision on February 2, 2025, this major shift will take effect on April 20, 2025, with full integration of trade services expected by June 1, 2025.
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader digitization agenda, aiming to simplify and unify access to import and export services provided by various government agencies at the border.
Key Changes in MPL's Operations – First Phase
As part of this integration, the following services will transition exclusively to the Tradian platform:
1. Registration of Foreign-Going Vessels
All vessel-related submissions, including Vessel Master Updates, must be submitted via Tradian. Direct submissions to MPL will no longer be accepted. This information will be automatically shared with MPL and relevant government authorities.
2. Vessel Arrival Information (ETA) Submission
Shipping agents are now required to submit Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) details for inbound vessels through the platform, replacing the previous direct submission method.
3. Sea Cargo Import Manifest Submission
Bill of Lading (BL) data must be submitted in Tradian's specified digital format. The system eliminates the need for scanned document uploads, enabling MPL to access submitted information instantly.
This platform is expected to enhance transparency, reduce paperwork, improve coordination among agencies, and increase the efficiency of trade facilitation processes in the Maldives.
