Male Commarcial Harbour

Male` Commercial Harbour

Malé Commercial Harbour is the main hub of maritime and commerce of the Maldives. The port is capable of providing marine pilotage services, wharfage and mooring, conventional and containerized cargo handling, stuffing and un-stuffing services as well. The entire Port Area is 5.6 hectares; it has a berth of 101m with an average draft of 10.8 meters. The container yard can hold a capacity of 1500 TEUS, with a clearing (CFS) capacity of 220 TEUs. MCH also has an important function of transshipment services to other regional ports and terminals.

    Hithadhoo Port Limited

    HPL

    Hithadhoo regional port (HRP), located in Addu Atoll, came into operation on July 2009. It is the second port developed by MPL and wholly owned by the state-owned Company, Hithadhoo Ports Limited (HPL). HRP is the main distribution hub in the southern region for containerized, general cargo. Equipped with adequate facilities, the port facilitates commercial cargo handling and storage-related services for businesses and industries established in the area.

    Kulhudhufushi Ports Limited

    KPL

    Kulhudhufushi Regional Port (KRP) began operations on 5th December 2005. KRP is located on Kulhudhufushi Island, also known as the economic capital of the North. The port serves as a hub in managing domestic, inter-island maritime trade and distribution activities within the northern region. KPL plays an important role in supporting transportation of goods and merchant trade from the central capital Male’ to the northern area.

    Hulhumale International terminal

    Hulhumale International Terminal is a strategic venture of MPL consisting terminal facilities fully compliant with ISPS standards. The terminal is pivotal in maintaining a smooth flow of cargo to prevent container congestion at Male’ Commercial Harbor. It plays an important role in catering to the economic activities and growth resulting from the urban development and housing projects currently under development on Hulhumalé Island.

    Male’ North Harbor

    MNH

    Male’ North Harbor is a domestic Quay for vessels (Dhoani) carrying cargo and passenger from atolls. The harbor can accommodate 30-37 vessels simultaneously. Operational for 24hrs, this harbor provides basic utilities for all vessels at the cheapest rates. The harbor consists of facilities that provide prayer room, wash room and waiting areas to meet all needs of travelers.

    Male’ South West Harbor

    MSWH

    MSWH was transferred under MPL by the government on 12 March 2015 to provide better services that fulfill the requirements of supply chain networks. The harbor has been developed by MPL from its initial rudimentary Facilities and providing basic necessities for locals requiring the harbor services. Such developments include facilitating water and electricity for customer, waiting area with prayer room and utilized the quay wall at its optimum level for vessels.
