Ms. Aminath Hameed is a distinguished executive with over two decades of experience in business administration, marketing, accounting, and finance. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Charles Sturt University, Australia, and a BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of East London, UK. She served as a Board member of Thilafushi Corporation Limited from 2014 to 2018, contributing significantly to the organization's progress with her strategic insights. From 2006 to 2013, she held various positions in the Regional Airports sector, including Head of Finance Department, Deputy Director, Assistant Manager, and Assistant Undersecretary, demonstrating her expertise in leadership, finance, and strategic planning.
Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim

Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim brings over nine years of executive leadership experience to his role as CEO of Maldives Ports Limited. His journey at Maldives Ports Limited saw him ascend through several strategic roles, including Assistant Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager, demonstrating increasing responsibility and influence. His corporate skills are further enhanced by his significant role at MIFCO, where he served as a board director. In addition to his corporate accomplishments, he has a strong background in educational leadership, contributing substantially to the national education system in various senior capacities. His dedication also extends to public service, notably as a Member of Parliament for the Fuvahmulah constituency. Shiyam Ibrahim

Mr. Shiyam Ibrahim brings with him an extensive background in maritime logistics and port management. His long career spanning 25 years with Maldives Ports Limited is characterized by his progression through key operational roles, underpinning his in-depth industry knowledge and proficiency. His tenure has seen him navigate through pivotal roles within both cargo and port operation divisions, allowing him to cultivate a holistic perspective on the sector's dynamics. His expertise is not only grounded in hands-on experience but is also enhanced by his strategic understanding of the complexities inherent in maritime logistics. Ahmed Ilyas
Board Member
Mr. Ahmed Ilyas, with 28 years at Maldives Ports Limited, retired in February 2023 after holding various key roles, from Tally Clerk to Assistant Manager. His leadership was pivotal in the digitalization of operations through the "Bandharu" software. Beyond operational roles, he contributed significantly to education as a lecturer for the International Labour Organization courses. Progressing to Planner and Senior Planner, he became Overall Container Yard Incharge. Throughout his career, Ahmed Ilyas displayed a commitment to excellence, blending strategic thinking with operational efficiency. His legacy includes navigating technological advancements in port management, leaving an indelible mark on Maldives Ports Limited.
Ahmed Niyaz

Mr. Ahmed Niyaz has a comprehensive background in strategic management and financial oversight from his tenure with Maldives Customs Service, where he served as Head of the Tariff and Trade Division and Head of the Finance Division. He has contributed to the National Valuation Committee and was an Instructor at the Centre for Customs & Excise Studies. He holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Aoyama Gakuin University, specializing in Strategic Management and Intellectual Property Rights. He received the President’s Award for Special Achievement in 2012. As a board member, his expertise in strategic oversight and intellectual property rights reflects a balanced integration of practical and academic proficiency.
Ahmed Faheem

With diverse roles at Maldives Customs Service, including Head of Seaport Examination and Head of Airport Intelligence, Mr. Ahmed Faheem brings dynamic expertise to our board. His leadership extends to strategic management and pivotal responsibilities such as Air Cargo Valuation and Documentation. Mr. Faheem holds a MSc in Strategic Management and Intellectual Property Rights from Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan, and a BSc in Information Technology from Maldives National University. His multifaceted experience and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset, aligning seamlessly with our organizational goals.
