Career Guidance Session Empowers Youth to Explore Maritime Opportunities
MPL and Youth Ministry host career guidance under the Badhahi Program
Malé, 25 August 2025 - The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, together with Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), hosted a career guidance session under the Badhahi Program. The event introduced participants to workplace environments and highlighted future career opportunities.
The program featured an orientation on job prospects within the maritime sector, followed by a guided tour of Malé Commercial Harbour. Through this experience, participants observed port operations firsthand and learned how different departments contribute to the overall functioning of the harbour.
An informational briefing delivered by MPL’s core functions further highlighted departmental responsibilities and career pathways, offering participants practical insights into the skills and knowledge required in the industry.
This joint initiative was designed to equip young people with the exposure and confidence to pursue opportunities in their chosen fields. By engaging directly with real workplace settings, the session encouraged participants to envision themselves as future contributors to the Maldives’ growing maritime industry.
