Virtual tours and kid friendly activities draw strong interest at 10th edition of the country’s leading maritime event
Male’ 10 February 2025 – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) proudly participated in the 10th edition of the Maldives Marine Expo (MME), held from 6th to 9th February 2025 at Hulhumalé Central Park. The annual expo, recognized as the country’s premier maritime exhibition, brought together local and international stakeholders to highlight innovation, industry growth, and future opportunities in the maritime sector.
This year, MPL featured a dedicated stall themed to promote Maldives Docks, showcasing the company’s dockyard services and technical capabilities. The booth attracted strong visitor interest throughout the four-day event, serving as a platform for industry networking, service awareness, and community engagement.
To offer a more immersive experience, visitors were invited to explore the Thilafushi Dockyard through an interactive Virtual Reality (VR) tour. The VR component provided guests with a digital walkthrough of the dockyard operations and infrastructure, allowing them to better understand the scope of MPL’s repair and maintenance services.
MPL also launched a Kid Activity Book designed especially for younger visitors. The booklet features maritime-themed puzzles, coloring pages, and a “Draw Your Dream Boat” challenge aimed at sparking early interest in the maritime world.
