Maldives Ports Limited Launches Cycle 4 – Module 1 of UNCTAD Modern Port Management Programme

23 professionals from MPL, Ministry of Transport & Civil Aviation, and MIFCO begin advanced port management training

Malé, 1 February 2026 - Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has officially commenced Cycle 4 – Module 1 of the UNCTAD Modern Port Management Programme, bringing together 23 professionals from MPL, the Ministry of Transport & Civil Aviation, and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) for advanced capacity building in port operations and management.

The programme, recognized internationally for its comprehensive approach to port management, will be delivered by UNCTAD experts in collaboration with local lecturers, offering participants a combination of global best practices and local insights.

This follows the successful completion of Cycle 3 in November 2025, which strengthened the skills and expertise of participants across key areas of port management.

This initiative underlines MPL’s commitment to enhancing professional expertise within the Maldivian maritime sector, equipping participants with practical skills and knowledge to drive operational efficiency, strategic development, and sustainable port management across the country.
