
MPL Conducts Comprehensive Port Safety Training Program in Collaboration with MNDF Coast Guard
Successfully concluded a specialized four-day Port Safety Training Program
Malé, December 23, 2025 – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has successfully concluded a specialized four-day Port Safety Training Program, conducted in close collaboration with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard.
The initiative was designed to bolster the safety framework across port operations, ensuring that staff are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to maintain a secure and efficient working environment. The program was delivered in four distinct batches, with 20 participants in each session, reaching a total of 80 employees from key operational departments.
The training modules focused on several critical areas, including:
• Regulatory & ISPS Code Compliance: Strengthening adherence to international maritime security standards and local port regulations.
• Hazard Awareness & Identification: Training staff to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks within the high-stakes port environment.
• Emergency Response: Enhancing the readiness of personnel to respond swiftly and effectively to unforeseen incidents or emergencies.
• Proper Use of PPE: Reinforcing the mandatory and correct application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure individual and collective safety.
By integrating the expertise of the MNDF Coast Guard, the program provided participants with both theoretical insights and practical scenarios tailored to the unique challenges of port logistics.
