Male’ (5 June) - Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) participated in the 5 Million Tree Project inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today. Planting 5 million trees within 5 years is a presidential pledge by President Muizzu to make the Maldives a greener environment and mitigate climate change. Senior management and several staff members of MPL participated in the tree planting program organized by the Hulhumale’ Community Alliance in Hulhumale’. Tree planting programs were also held at Hithadhoo Port and Kulhudhufushi Port. This widespread involvement highlights a unified regional effort to enhance environmental sustainability and combat climate change. The 5 Million Tree Project is anticipated to play a crucial role in the Maldives' strategy to support biodiversity and mitigate the impacts of climate change, aligning with global environmental goals.
