MPL Staff Night 2025: Celebrating 39 Years of Dedication and Excellence
Malé, 19th September 2025 - Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) was proud to host our much-anticipated annual Staff Night, a grand celebration marking our 39th anniversary. The event, held at Henveiru Stadium in the capital, Male', was a resounding success, bringing together over 800 of our dedicated staff for an evening of recognition and celebration.
We were honored to have the Minister of Economic Development & Trade, Honorable Mohamed Saeed, join us as the Chief Guest for this special occasion. We were also delighted to welcome some of our esteemed former CEOs, whose presence added to the significance of the evening.
The evening was filled with memorable moments, beginning with an inspiring speech from our CEO, DCP (Retd.) Mohamed Rishwan. He highlighted the remarkable successes of the past year and extended his heartfelt congratulations to all staff, especially the award recipients. He encouraged everyone to continue striving for excellence and was delighted to announce the introduction of fully paid scholarships in fields related to port operations and management for MPL staff, a testament to our investment in our team's growth.
A key highlight of the night was the recognition of our team's hard work and commitment. Awards were presented to:
- Long-serving employees and esteemed retired staff, honored by our Chief Guest, Minister Mohamed Saeed.
- Exceptional performers of the year, who received awards for Rising Star, Outstanding Achievement, Outstanding Leadership, and Top 10 Staff of the Year, were presented by our Board of Directors.
In his address, the Honorable Minister Mohamed Saeed commended MPL's significant and long-standing contribution to the Maldivian economy. He praised the unwavering dedication of our staff and assured us of the government's full support for our future projects and vision.
The night also marked two historic launches:
- The unveiling of our landmark 40th Anniversary Logo, setting the stage for a milestone year ahead.
- The launch of the first public edition of our company magazine, 'Ulhandhu', unveiled by former CEO, Honorable Abdulla Kamaaluddeen.
The festivities continued with the presentation of awards for the 'Best Dressed' staff member and the winner of our internal Ramadan quiz, ‘Mashah Ingey’. A lucky draw, with a fantastic pool of prizes sponsored by local businesses, added to the excitement. The night was rounded out with a special feast and thrilling Boduberu performances.
