UNCTAD Modern Port Management Module 8 Underway at MPL
Advancing Technical and Human Resources Development in Port Operations
Malé, 19 October 2025 - Module 8 of the UNCTAD Modern Port Management Course, focusing on Technical and Human Resources Development Management was officially commenced on 18th October 2025, marking another step forward in strengthening port management expertise.
The sessions featured insightful presentations from distinguished experts, including Ms. Asiyath Mohamed, who covered HR development and policy management, and Mr. Mohamed Mirshan, who addressed HR needs assessment, recruitment, and training strategies. Participants also gained an international perspective from Mr. Hanz Joel Vilcapoma Virrueta of OSITRAN, Peru, who shared global best practices in human resources development within the port sector.
This module is part of MPL’s ongoing efforts to enhance technical capabilities and strengthen HR management, ensuring staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to drive efficiency and innovation across Maldives’ port operations.
