She holds a Master of Business Administration (Marketing) from Charles Sturt University, Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from the University of East London, United Kingdom.

    Chief Executive Officer

    Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim brings over nine years of executive leadership experience to his role as CEO of Maldives Ports Limited. His journey at Maldives Ports Limited saw him ascend through several strategic roles, including Assistant Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager, demonstrating increasing responsibility and influence. His corporate skills are further enhanced by his significant role at MIFCO, where he served as a board director. In addition to his corporate accomplishments, he has a strong background in educational leadership, contributing substantially to the national education system in various senior capacities. His dedication also extends to public service, notably as a Member of Parliament for the Fuvahmulah constituency. He is distinguished by a leadership style rooted in commitment and a profound dedication to community progress.

Shiyam's tenure has seen him navigate through pivotal roles within both cargo and port operation divisions, allowing him to cultivate a holistic perspective on the sector's dynamics. His expertise is not only grounded in hands-on experience but is also enhanced by his strategic understanding of the complexities inherent in maritime logistics. The insights he offers are born from a steadfast dedication to operational excellence and an intimate familiarity with port operations.   • Ahmed Ilyas

    Board Member

    Ahmed Ilyas, with 28 years at Maldives Ports Limited, retired in February 2023 after holding various key roles, from Tally Clerk to Assistant Manager. His leadership was pivotal in the digitalization of operations through the "Bandharu" software. Beyond operational roles, he contributed significantly to education as a lecturer for International Labour Organization courses. Progressing to Planner and Senior Planner, he became Overall Container Yard Incharge. Throughout his career, Ahmed Ilyas displayed a commitment to excellence, blending strategic thinking with operational efficiency. His legacy includes navigating technological advancements in port management, leaving an indelible mark on Maldives Ports Limited.

    Ahmed Niyaz possesses a comprehensive background in strategic management and financial oversight from his tenure with the Maldives Customs Service, where he served as Head of Tariff and Trade Division and Head of Finance Division. His experience is further exemplified by his role on the National Valuation Committee and his contributions as an Instructor at the Centre for Customs & Excise Studies. Holding a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Aoyama Gakuin University, with a specialization in Strategic Management and Intellectual Property Rights, his academic credentials are solidified by the receipt of the President’s Award for Special Achievement in 2012. In his capacity as a board member, Ahmed Niyaz's expertise in strategic oversight and intellectual property rights is a significant asset, reflecting a balanced integration of practical and academic proficiency.

    With diverse roles at Maldives Customs Service, including Head of Seaport Examination and Head of Airport Intelligence, Ahmed Faheem brings dynamic expertise to our board. His leadership extends to strategic management and pivotal responsibilities such as Air Cargo Valuation and Documentation. Faheem holds an MSc in Strategic Management and Intellectual Property Rights from Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan, and a BSc in Information Technology from Maldives National University. His multifaceted experience and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset, aligning seamlessly with our organizational goals.
